Louise Bassett Watts

Louise was awarded a first class honours degree in textile design at Liverpool University in 1979.

She has also qualified as a lecturer. After teaching a range of arts and crafts subjects to disabled adults she now works on a more full time basis on her own textile work.

Louise makes a range of silk and velvet scarves , silk wall-hangings, cushions and velvet beaded embroidered bags.

She enjoys drawing her inspiration from nature but is sometimes drawn to more abstract forms and shapes. Louise has a particular interest in colour and how dyes and paints can produce new and interesting effects and patterns.

She has and can work to special commission.
